DATE / ISSUE QUESTION ANSWER
October 4, 2018: Gear Grinding Noise: Slipping out of gear or out of lower range. Question: Hi just talked to you on the phone, I have a 1400 powerluber. It is jumping out of lower range but also has a growling noise in low. Wondering what I need for parts. First Issue: 1400 power luber. it wants to keep jumping out of gear. Jump out of low range. Second issue, there is a grinding noise in low gear. Answer: Customer will need a gear kit, this typically occurs when the gears are ground down by switching between hi and low while the motor is still operating and spinning the gears. p/n 286286 Have them also check the spring clip that switches the clutch. If the gun was dropped or roughly handled, one of the fingers may have dislodged itself from the pump housing and not allowing the gears to fully engage. Other potential issue, the spring clip simply needs to be bent back into shape so it fully engages the gears.
