271883 - PAST HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Date / Subject Oldest Date is first
Year 2004: Power Luber Series A vs Series B; Power Luber Motor and Power Luber Gear Sets: We notice that there are fewer number of problems with the Motor and the Gear Sets with the Series B Power Luber. It appears that the Pressure Relief Kit on the Series B Power Luber ( 271883 Pressure Relief Kit) alleviates the problems of overloading the Gears and Motor. If you have a Series A, we strongly suggest the purchase of the Pressure Relief Kit (271883) and retro fit this onto your Power Luber Series A Model.
Year: 2006 Problem: Problem: The 271883 1200 Series B Relief Valve. Is there any way to clean that out and after it has been on the gun for awhile. After years it seems to be sticking, according to the customer. Answer: Sorry , but the way it is designed , it is not " Cleanable" , only “replaceable”.

DATE QUESTION ANSWER
Date: July 24th, 2017 I have a technical question. The part number 271883 in the package, I see 2 copper washers, and a relief valve. But on the drawing it shows: 2 copper washers, a relief valve and an adapter and white O ring. The adapter and white O ring I see in the drawing are not in the packages. Sometimes I see the white O ring in 1 or 2 packages but for the most part it is not there. I have a lot of these 271883's in stock and customers are questioning. The customers were the ones telling me about the 2 missing pieces. The 271883 kit no longer includes the threaded adapter. This was a management decision due to recent gun design updates that eliminated the relief all together. Please see service pages attached. The hose assembly can be threaded directly into the housing, but would eliminate the pressure relief valve. This was the practice when the Series A 1200's were originally introduced. The current design Series D of the gun uses a thermal protector wired inline to the motor which will shut the unit off.
July 24th, 2017 How can I get the threaded adapter piece if the customer wants one. Is there a part number? He is trying to repair An older series B with the pressure relief and he either threw away or lost the adapter piece. It is no longer available
January 10, 2018 What are the thread sizes on the threaded adapter that is included (was included with the 271883) . Customers are asking. I know the 271883 is obsolete. The adapter that was included in the 271883 but ultimately the obsoleted is 7/16-28UNEF(f) by 7/16-28UNEF(m). Same thread as the 1230 whip hose that is used on all PowerLubers.
January 10, 2018 Another Observation: Customers can theoretically remove the pressure relief setup and hook the hose directly into the gun head outlet. However I would not recommend doing this until the internal wiring harness is upgraded to the current setup with thermal protection. This is the new method of pressure protection.
